Hospice at Home provides complementary therapy to patients with cancer or other life threatening illnesses.
Referrals are made via the Charity Office and the Hospice at Home Nurses. Patients may receive up to 12 sessions of complementary therapy.
Complementary therapies are generally viewed as treatments which are given together with conventional medical treatments. The Hospice at Home service takes a holistic approach and considers the whole person in mind, body and spirit. In this way care for the emotional and psychological well-being is addressed as well as the patients’ physical condition.
Complementary therapy is available in the day hospice, community clinics and where necessary in the patients home.
